Biography

The Rev’d Dr. Sonia Hinds has a B.A. (Second Class Honours) in Theology from the University of West Indies (Codrington College); Masters in Sacred Theology (Christian Spirituality) from the General Theological Seminary in New York and a Doctorate from the University of Toronto (Trinity College). She is also a graduate of George Brown College, Toronto where she gained a Diploma in the Assaulted Women and Children’s Advocate and Counsellor programme.

 

She has published in various magazines and in the following journals and books including: ‘Christian Mission in the Caribbean, The WCC’s International Review of Mission (1988); Beyond the Journey: Women’s Stories of Settlement and Community (2013); Churches, Multiculturalism, and Justice in Canada: An Anglican Perspective in Churches, Blackness and Contested Multiculturalism (2014) and Spiritual Justice: Towards a Womanish Spirituality of Spiritual Care in  The Holy Spirit and Social Justice: Interdisciplinary Global Issues

The Rev’d Dr. Sonia Hinds will be among the graduates in this year’s UWI’s ceremony as she
has recently completed the Post Graduate Certificate in University Teaching & Learning, Cave
Hill Campus.
