An Anglican Priest by training and both a Clinical and Counselling Psychologist. He is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill; Columbia University; Long Island University and Post Graduate Centre for Mental Health, all in New York City.
Rev. Dr. Marcus Lashley is a Fulbright Scholar and did his externship at Harlem Hospital and had a field placement at Columbia Support Services, a day treatment centre for schizophrenics and borderlines.
He has an adult private practice at Family Health Clinic and specializes in Pre and Post Marital Therapy and Personal Injury evaluation, especially where there has been trauma to the brain. He is a former interim president of the Barbados Association of Psychologists and is a former chairman chair of its Ethics Committee. He is also a former chairman of the National Mental Health Commission and the National Advisory Committee on Family Matters.
He has served as a consultant to several national and regional bodies including, Cabinet Office, BTA, CDB, CCC, Barbados Light and Power Co. Ltd and many others. He is also a lecturer in Psychology and Pastoral Care and Counselling.
In the 15 minutes of his day that is left, he enjoys winemaking, watching Sci-Fi pictures, dabbling in ceramics, a hobby woodworker and is also an inventor.
