New head looking to draw youth

NEW PRINCIPAL of Codrington College, Reverend Dr Michael Clarke, says the Anglican Church has a role to play in addressing the state of affairs in Barbados.

At his installation ceremony at the college Monday night, Clarke appealed for the help of others in the Anglican community to “plot the course of our church for the times to come”.

He said such a course should address “the significant loss that we have experienced among the youth of this nation”.

Immediately after being installed by Bishop Dr John Holder, who is also Archbishop of the West Indies, Clarke declared: “We are a church in its fullness. We pride ourselves on the fact that you can find a home with us no matter what your churchmanship. We have not paid attention to that truth in recent times and have perhaps surrendered somewhat because of it.”
